Hoʻi I Ka Piko
$55.00
“Hoʻi I Ka Piko” - return to the source. This design is in honor of the two souls who voyaged beside me through a 2780 nautical mile journey home on our 26ft waʻa. It is also to celebrate that rogue sailing canoes are still crossing the pacific. The screenprint is monochromatic film and hand written memoirs. It was a right of passage to come home in the ancestral fashion of our island. The front of the shirt spells out an oli (chant) for protection at sea. It was conceived it during the voyage, in hope that the mana will ripple out beyond my horizon.
Hand printed in Hawaiʻi on a mineral washed vintage chocolate color garment.
